One of my late grandmother’s mixed borders.

A happy new year to you! I hope to be back with the usual fare on Wednesday 26th January, but until then I’d like to share a piece written for Radicle, an alternative gardening newsletter. I hope you enjoy my exploration of home, heritage and belonging.

I design size inclusive knitting patterns for clothes makers who want their garments to fit well. Clothes should serve you, not the other way around. You alter clothes to fit you, not alter yourself to fit the clothes. I also teach people how to sew, how to design knitwear, and am currently creating a comprehensive, year-long knitwear design course, covering everything from illustration to pattern grading. What a wonderful essay! I would love to share it with others-of course acknowledging your authorship- your words have universal and pertinent relevance.

Thank you very much Sarah! – yes, please feel free to share with credit. It might be easier to grab the link directly from Radicle; the url will probably be shorter, if not cleaner.
