Hello, and thank you for your interest in sewing classes! My name is Natalie Warner.
I’m planning some in-person sewing classes in south London for February 2023. I imagine that they’ll cater for beginner sewists and dressmakers, but I want to be sure I’m on the right track.
Sewing classes for Streatham and Brixton Hill
To that end, I’d like to invite you to a meet and greet/registration on Tuesday 7th February at 11.00am. Over a cup of tea, you can see the space, find out more about me (more here if you REALLY can’t wait), and tell me more about your sewing. Location details are below.
This dotty drawstring bag is an example of a beginner level project. I’ll have other bag samples to show you if this doesn’t float your boat, so don’t worry if you’d prefer something else.
If dressmaking is more like it, I’m happy to support you through your projects. You can binge on some of my sewing blogs and pattern reviews here if you like. I’m not keen on bridal or costume pieces, but enjoy teaching other areas of sewing and pattern cutting. Everyday wardrobe fare is right up my street, including coats and soft tailoring. I do like a coat.
Until we meet on Tuesday, here’s what I can tell you:
I plan to begin the classes on Tuesday 21st February. This first series will be a block of 5 classes, ending on Tuesday 21st March.
There are 6 sewing machines; therefore 6 places are available. I’ll need a minimum of 4 people to cover venue hire, etc. If the demand is there on Tuesday 7th, I will try to organise another class.
The classes – and registration – will be at the Friends Meeting House, just off Brixton Hill. It’s close to the junction with Christchurch Road, between Streatham Hill rail and Brixton tube stations. It’s also very cosy, wheelchair accessible and at ground floor level.
If you have any questions that can’t wait until registration day, please get in touch using the contact form below. This will go straight to my inbox and I will pick up your message as soon as I can.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to meeting you soon.
Best wishes, Natalie
