Filling Knowledge Gaps for Knitwear Designers, One Stitch at a Time
In the quiet corners of our creative lives, we often find that while we have the passion for a project, we encounter small, stubborn gaps in our knowledge. You aren’t looking for a season-long commitment…but you do want a focused hour of clarity and the personal touch to help you over a specific hurdle.
Introducing Topical Thursdays: a series of regularly irregular knitwear design classes designed to be easily actionable, deeply practical, and entirely accessible.
Those of you who have spent time with me, or read my blog, know that I lean towards the immersive and the nerdy! I have a deep respect for the craft of knitwear design, and my long-form courses reflect that comprehensive nature.
However, I know (because some of you have told me) that sometimes you simply need a live, personal touchpoint to master a particular skill without committing to a larger curriculum.
This might be because you’re already up and running as a designer and don’t have the time, or you want something highly targeted and specific.
What to Expect
These sessions are the distilled version of my teaching philosophy and methodologies. Each one-hour (ish) class will focus on a specific skill or concept, offering a way for you to:
- Engage with live versions of my recorded lessons with the benefit of real-time personalisation;
- Bridge specific knowledge gaps that might be holding your designs back;
- Get a feel for my teaching style if you are new to my corner of the knitting world.
The Schedule
True to their name, these classes will take place (when they do!) on the second Thursday of the month at 3pm UK time. Whilst I am still establishing the upcoming schedule, I invite you to make a note in your diary.
These sessions are not a substitute for the structured depth of a full course, but more about that here if that’s what you’re looking for. The plan for Topical Thursdays is for them to be the perfect way to keep your design practice moving in a way that’s tailored to you.
