The Geometry of Sleeves: Set-in Sleeves

In this in-depth class, you’ll uncover the essential principles for drafting flawless set-in sleeves. Through contextual examples, precise reference to body measurements, and practical demonstrations, you’ll be expertly guided through the entire drafting process. Learn to create sleeves that perfectly fit both the armhole and the wearer, mastering the art of checking your sleeve head with a calculator and receiving invaluable pointers on finishing techniques. The Geometry of Sleeves: Raglan Sleeves

Similarly, this class will introduce you to the core principles for drafting perfectly fitted raglan sleeves. With practical examples, body measurement references, and clear demonstrations, you’ll navigate the process of drafting a raglan sleeve that harmonises with your dissected bodice and the wearer. Discover how to confidently check your sleeve head fit using a calculator and gain essential finishing insights. Advance reading will cover design and styling notes, including a partial recap of previous set-in sleeves lectures with additional raglan-specific insights.

What You’ll Need For Designing Knitted Sleeves:

  • A scientific calculator with parentheses/brackets, pi, and trigonometry functions.
  • Pen and paper for note-taking.
  • Pencil and ruler for drafting (a mechanical pencil with 2H to HB leads is ideal).
  • Squared or grid paper (A4 or letter size). For inches, you’ll need quarter-inch (quad or quadrille) paper (4 boxes per inch). For centimetres, 5mm x 5mm squared paper (2 boxes per centimetre). Printable links will be provided if you can’t find a pad!
  • (Optional) Coloured fineliners or felt-tip pens if you’re a colour-coding fiend like me 😉

A full refund of your course tuition is available within 30 calendar days of your initial enrolment date, provided you meet the following conditions:

Refund Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Time Limit: Your refund request must be submitted via email to me no later than 11:59 PM UK time on the 30th day after your purchase date.
  2. Good-Faith Effort: You must demonstrate that you have actively engaged with the course content up to the point of your request.
    • Specifically, to be eligible for a refund, you must have:
      • Completed 100% of the lessons in Module 1.
      • Submitted the required formative assignment for Module 1 for feedback, or provided documentation that you have fully completed the assignment instructions.
      • Participated in at least one (1) peer feedback, one-to-one feedback, or community discussion within the course platform.
  3. Content Access: You must have viewed less than 25% of the total course video content available at the time of the request (to account for the dripped schedule).

Non-Eligibility (No Refund Issued If):

  • You request a refund after the 30-day limit has passed.
  • You have not demonstrated a good-faith effort by completing the required assignments outlined above.
  • You have not logged into the course platform.
  • You purchased the course simply to “check it out” without the intention of doing the work.
