Your wardrobe is aligned with slow fashion ethics and an act of intentional design. Let’s make sure we keep it that way.
Join Between the Seams, a weekly invitation to move beyond industry standards, embrace sensory delight, and claim your creative agency as a maker or designer.
Delivered to your inbox every Friday.
What’s Between the Seams?
Clothes making is a deeply tactile pursuit, but your creative journey shouldn’t take place in a vacuum. Whether you are casting on your tenth hand-knit sweater or sketching a new silhouette, whether you are a dedicated knitter or a professional designer, Between the Seams is where we deconstruct the industry “standards” to find the perfect fit — for your unique body, your mind, your nervous system, and your business.
Every Friday, we explore clothing from the inside out: how fabric weights anchor our focus, how textures soothe or irritate our bodies, and how the rhythmic act of making acts as a sovereign form of self-care. Plus, insights into the professional practices that make slow fashion and intentional wardrobe curation possible.
I’m sharing a philosophy where clothing is no longer a source of anxiety, but a powerful tool for emotional liberation and bodily joy.
Every Friday, you’ll receive:
- The Structural Authority of Style: Insights into garment architecture, fit, and proportions.
- The Mindset of Mastery: Reflections on slow fashion, self-acceptance, and intentional design.
- Behind the Studio Door: The first look at new patterns, course enrolments, my personal design puzzles, and professional experiences.
Choose your Tuesday deep-dives:
Beyond our Friday connection, you can tailor your experience to match your focus:
- The Intentional Wardrobe: For the makers. Weekly interactive explorations on using clothes as a deliberate form of empowerment and somatic care. We look at how to cast glamours with your knitwear — using drapes, shapes, and stitches to strategically choose what the world sees, what stays protected, and how to make the body a direct source of personal pleasure. Sent on Tuesdays.
- Gauge Readings: For the professionals. Bi-monthly technical deep-dives into grading, business ethics, and the industry view from the drafting table. All with a size-inclusive focus and slow fashion practices. Sent on Wednesdays.

Between the Seams is a weekly letter written from the perspective of designing, making, and wearing clothes as an act of empowerment, fuelled by self-care, self-acceptance, and self love.
That’s how it began for me, as a little girl twirling in dresses and cardigans made by Mum and Grandma – and I want the same for you, too. I bake this philosophy into every pattern, course, and resource I create.

Natalie Warner | Knitting Pattern Designer and 4th Generation Dressmaker
I design size- and shape-inclusive modern knitting patterns for clothes makers who want their garments to fit well. Clothes should serve you, not the other way around. You alter clothes to fit you, not alter yourself to fit the clothes. This is at the heart of everything I do. I also offer a range of online knitwear design courses, covering everything from illustration to pattern grading, and consultancy services.
If you’re enjoying my content, you can get more by reading my blog, which features several articles on garment fitting, alterations, knitwear design and sewing pattern reviews, following me on Instagram or Pinterest @natalieinstitches, or signing up to my newsletter.
