Description
Assembly is a classic textured cable scarf knitting pattern, as well as an ideal project for those new to knitting cables. Knitters of all skill levels will enjoy the easy rhythm and intuitive basketweave pattern. This texture contains plenty of plain knit rows, and as a result you’ll enjoy speedy progress!
A cable scarf knitting pattern for beginners
The scarf begins with a garter stitch border. Next, the main body is worked in a basket weave stitch pattern with cables. Finally, a short garter stitch border completes the scarf.
All cables twist in the same direction; consequently, you’re less likely to twist your stitches incorrectly! If you’re new to the cabling technique, you’ll find this very helpful!

Yarn choices for the Assembly scarf
The sample was knitted with Something to Knit with Aran. Unfortunately this yarn is now discontinued. However, any Aran yarn with a stocking stitch/stockingette tension of 18 sts x 24 rows to 10cm will be an excellent substitute. Please visit YarnSub for more guidance, and make sure you knit a test swatch!
