If you already know how to sew clothes but need more dedicated help with troubleshooting, fitting or garment construction, then my 60-minute sewing surgery is for you.
This offering is for anyone seeking help online with sewing clothes, fitting patterns, or garment construction techniques.
You might prefer this option if you:
– don’t need a fully-fledged course on sewing or how to make clothes
– can’t find what you need on YouTube
– enjoy learning independently
– need a human being to engage with you and your project
– have trouble getting to a sewing store, or don’t have one near where you live. Getting help online sewing clothes is your only option.
All one-to-ones are held over Zoom. I can offer troubleshooting and tuition tailored to you.
PLEASE NOTE: This offer is not for beginners!
I don’t recommend online sewing classes for beginners. Plus, one hour is nowhere near long enough for you to meaningfully grasp and absorb the basics of how to sew. You need a more immersive course and time to practice and contextualise the practical skills. It’s best if you learn in person first, gain some confidence and independence, then try online sewing classes. This one-off session will not help you.
There’s also the small matter of learning how to understand and follow pattern instructions. MUCH easier and less confusion when you have someone by your side to ask questions 🙂
Please visit my 1:1 page for beginner sewing to see how I can help you.
What happens after you book Sewing Surgery?
Once your appointment has been confirmed, you can tell me more about what you’re working on and the support you need. You can share any files or photos of your sewing project that will help me to understand your goals. That way we can dive straight in without you having to spend the first fifteen minutes bringing me up to speed.
I will then look over everything you’ve sent me and prepare any practical demonstrations beforehand. Again, this is so that we’re ready to go and you don’t have to wait for me to cut fabric.
You’ll also have the chance to review what you’ve told me before we meet, just in case anything has changed or there’s something else you think I should know. That way, we can really make the most of the hour.
Finally, I’ll follow up with some notes and a link to our Zoom recording so you can go over everything we’ve covered at your own pace. The recording and notes are both yours to keep forever.

I also have a blog chock-full of posts on many aspects of pattern cutting and garment construction. It’s all listed under the Stitches and Notches category.

Natalie Warner
I design size- and shape-inclusive knitting patterns for clothes makers who want their garments to fit well. Clothes should serve you, not the other way around. You alter clothes to fit you, not alter yourself to fit the clothes. This is at the heart of everything I do.
I also teach other people how to design clothes, and run two courses: an online knitwear design course, covering everything from illustration to pattern grading, and an in-person clothing design course comprising made-to-measure blocks, creative pattern cutting, and garment construction.
If you’re enjoying my content, you can get more by reading my blog, which features several articles on garment fitting, alterations, knitwear design and sewing pattern reviews, following me on Instagram or Pinterest @natalieinstitches, or signing up to my newsletter. And you can find out more about me here. Welcome!
