Hello, fellow knitters and aspiring designers! Many of you know my passion for helping you create beautiful, well-fitting garments that truly express your unique style. I’ve been pouring my heart and expertise into developing comprehensive knitwear design courses and a companion book, both of which are designed to be the vital learning resources I wish I’d had when I was starting out twelve years ago.
This project is moving along wonderfully (it’s the reason why my blog has been so quiet; I hope you understand), but I’ve hit a small hurdle that could use your support. I need help editing three crucial videos for tailored sleeve design and drafting that will bring these courses to life visually. These videos are the key to unlocking complex pattern drafting concepts in an engaging and accessible way.
Upcoming knitwear design courses
My three upcoming courses cover essential areas for anyone serious about knitwear design:
- Sleeve Masterclass: Dive deep into the nuances of tailored set-in and raglan sleeves, ensuring your garments have a professional, polished finish.
- Made to Measure Knitwear: Learn how to create patterns specifically tailored to your body measurements, so you can finally achieve that perfect, comfortable fit you deserve.
- Knitwear Design Initiation: This course is geared towards industry colleagues and those serious about professional design, providing a solid foundation for generating and publishing your own knitting patterns.
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a real difference. Meeting my fundraising target means the Sleeve Masterclass will be fully completed and open for enrolment this autumn, and a huge chunk of the other courses will be ready to roll either later this year or in early 2026. This is because the sleeve lessons are common to all three courses.

My mission – why I want these courses to exist, and why you should too
For years, I’ve seen knitters and sewists struggle with ill-fitting garments and generic patterns. My unique approach, rooted in four generations of dressmaking and university-level knitwear design, aims to change that. I believe everyone, regardless of their shape or experience, can create and customise patterns to feel beautiful and confident in their handmade clothes.
Those of you who know me or have taken my courses before understand that I am NOT here for formulaic drafting. I get right down to the bones (quite literally), which is why my teaching is rock solid. My methods are about empowering you to create lasting, custom-fit garments – whether for yourself or members of the knitting public.
