Collaboration & Pattern Licensing for Indie Yarn Brands

Knitting Pattern Licensing with Natalie in Stitches | Expand your yarn trunk shows and kit sales by creating a partnership with an independent knitwear designer.

Let’s create something beautiful together. Explore worldwide, non-exclusive knitting pattern licensing designed to make your gorgeous colourways shine.

As indie dyers and yarn producers, you pour your heart into creating breathtaking colourways and selecting base qualities. But we both know that knitters buy with their eyes.  And they don’t just buy yarn; they buy the dream of what that yarn can become.

That’s where I come in.

I design modern, intuitive, and meticulously graded knitwear patterns that knitters love to work on. Through my Pattern Licensing Agreement, you can seamlessly pair your yarn with my established designs to create premium, show-stopping yarn kits for your online shop, yarn festivals, and trunk shows.

Knitting Pattern Licensing | How It Works

Our community thrives on collaboration, not competition. So I’ve created this licensing model to be straightforward, transparent, and supportive of mutual business growth without geographic restrictions.

  • Physical Kit Integration: Licence includes the right to print one (1) physical copy of the pattern per yarn kit sold. (Perfect for grab-and-go festival shopping!)
  • Global, Non-Exclusive Freedom: Market and sell your collaborative kits worldwide — whether at local yarn fairs, international festivals, or via your own website.
  • Sample Pairing Support: If you want to know if a specific base or variegated colourway will work with a texture, I can provide personalised sample and swatch consultation to ensure our pairing is an absolute match made in heaven.
  • Co-Branded Marketing: All licensed patterns feature prominent co-branding, directing my audience to your yarn and giving your customers a cohesive, premium experience.

The Fine Print | Keeping Things Simple and Secure

I believe in clear boundaries so we can both focus on what we do best: creating. Here is a quick snapshot of my standard licensing terms:

  • The Term: Agreements are set for one (1) year to begin with, with easy options to renew.
  • The Investment: A simple 10% royalty on gross kit sales, paid quarterly in arrears.
  • The Guardrails: To protect the integrity of the design, no digital distribution or pattern modifications are permitted without prior consent.

The Beginning of a Partnership

Whether you have a specific pattern of mine in mind, or you want to pitch a custom yarn-and-design collaboration for an upcoming festival season, I’d love to know more about your plans.
